Set against the backdrop of an unforgiving Southern landscape, Zephyr is the unforgettable story of a young woman's courage and resilience.

Zephyr is a young black woman living in the rural South in the early 1900s. She is the daughter of sharecroppers, and she has never known anything but poverty and hardship. But Zephyr is determined to make a better life for herself and her family.

When Zephyr's father is killed by a white man, she is left alone to care for her mother and younger siblings. She takes on a series of backbreaking jobs, but she never gives up on her dream of a better life.

Zephyr's story is one of hope and heartbreak, of resilience and determination. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
